jiayao's married ! ....

funny how someone that ive known for more than a decade is actually married ...
funny how im acutually his best man ...
funny how he would actually marry a vegetarian ....
funny how he would move out of bukit timah ...
funny how he now stays at hougang ....
funny how he actually gave me an ang pow ...
funny how someone that has "never panicked since 1981" could forget about the oranges ....
funny how he could still make retarded jokes on his wedding day....

well ... seems like God has a plan for everybody ...

ive always known that jiayao has the deepest respect for his Grandfather ... but to see both of them tear during the tea ceremony .... easily one of the most touching moment of my life ...a simple gesture is all it takes to show the bond they had ....

be it the first time the grandfather taught his grandson how to play mahjong ... how he always dotes on jiayao ... how he keeps nagging on his grandson to study hard .... how his face would just light up when the grandson says he's coming back for dinner ....

how the grandson always runs errands for him ... how the grandson sat at his bedside till dawn for consecutive days when he had a stroke ....

it just puts things into perspective ... maybe thats why i have never complained about having to fetch christen from school ... maybe i knew i'll be helping out my sister and my mum ...maybe just maybe ... i'll be able to have a similar bond with christen .... listening to her constant singing ... or just yaking about what she did in school ....
